	In 1930 with a growing business, the company purchased the James Levi building. Ironically, George Eitel, the vice-president of the company, began his business career with the James Levi company as an errand boy. The store was operated by the Surkin Cloak Company whose president, George Surkin, began his business in Dubuque. Another store operated by the same company was in Racine, Wisconsin.
