&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;DUBUQUE WEEKLY TRIBUNE.  The &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dubuque Weekly Tribune&amp;#039;&amp;#039; was founded by A. P. Wood and first published on December 21, 1846. It offered a weekly and daily edition. On August 15, 1848 the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dubuque Semi-Weekly Tribune&amp;#039;&amp;#039; reported the first telegraph message received in Dubuque. The message told of the nomination of Martin Van Buren for President of the United States.&lt;br /&gt;

W.A. Adams and A.W. Hackley became its publishers in 1854 and Hackley the sole owner and editor the following year. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The &amp;quot;Tribune&amp;quot; purchased the [[DEMOCRATIC TELEGRAPH]] in 1850. In 1857 the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tribune&amp;#039;&amp;#039; purchased the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dubuque Republican&amp;#039;&amp;#039; begun two years earlier. The combined newspapers continued as the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tribune&amp;#039;&amp;#039; until March 9, 1858.&lt;br /&gt;
