	DUBUQUE LODGE C. S. P. S. Dubuque Lodge C. S. P. S., a benevolent society, composed of Bohemians, was organized in Dubuque in February, 1879, by the Supreme Lodge of the Order at St. Louis. The objects of the society were to care for the sick, bury the dead and comfort the widow and fatherless. Candidates for membership were required to be between the ages of twenty-one and forty-five, in sound physical condition and capable of self support. The initiation fee varied from $5 to $11, according to age of applicant, and the annual dues were $6. When members are sick they are allowed $4 a week; if death follows, their heirs receive $650.
