	DEGGENDORF, F. E. (Austria, Dec. 12, ~~1831~~--1885). Deggendorf came to the United States in 1859 and settled in Dubuque. He enlisted in the military during the [[CIVIL WAR]] and served in Company H, First Iowa Infantry. (1) He was severely injured during the Battle of Wilson's Creek.		DEGGENDORF, F. E. (Austria, Dec. 12, 1834--1885 (4.)). Deggendorf came to the United States in 1859 and settled in Dubuque. He enlisted in the military during the [[CIVIL WAR]] and served in Company H, First Iowa Infantry. (1) He was severely injured during the Battle of Wilson's Creek,, captured, and was held in a prisoner hospital for four months.

	Deggendorf returned to Dubuque by 1867 and became an agent of the Dubuque Fire and Life Insurance Company. By 1876 he had become an insurance agent for the Trader's Insurance Company of Chicago.
