	In December of 2007, Cindy and Katie gave a fleece blanket to every adult cancer patient at Northwestern Prentice Hospital in Chicago. Again in December of 2008 they visited with and gave blankets to more than 200 patients at Northwestern in Chicago, as well as [[FINLEY HOSPITAL (THE)]] and [[MERCY HOSPITAL]] ~~hospitals~~ in Dubuque. December 2009, Iowa City Hospital was added to the list of blanket recipients. Cindy and Katie plan to distribute “Covers of Comfort” fleece blankets every December as Christmas presents for the adult cancer patients undergoing treatment during the holidays. 	On December 28, 2005, 18 year old, Katie Widmar, a senior in high school was told that she had cancer. On December 29, 2005, Katie and her mother traveled to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic. Two biopsies later, Katie was informed that she had Hodgkin’s Nodular Sclerosis Lymphoma. . 	Katie underwent chemotherapy in Iowa City every other week for six months. At 5:30 ~~in the morning~~ she and her mother, Cindy, left their home in Dubuque for the 1 ½ hour drive to Iowa City where they spent the day in the treatment center. As they drove home; Katie wrapped herself in her fleece blanket, a comfort to her through treatments as well as her at home ‘down’ times.		Katie underwent chemotherapy in Iowa City every other week for six months. At 5:30 a.m. she and her mother, Cindy, left their home in Dubuque for the 1 ½ hour drive to Iowa City where they spent the day in the treatment center. As they drove home; Katie wrapped herself in her fleece blanket, a comfort to her through treatments as well as her at home ‘down’ times.

	On August 3, 2006, Katie was told further treatment was needed. Cindy and Katie traveled 3 ½ hours to Northwestern Hospital and Clinic in Chicago to meet with Katie’s new oncologist, Dr. Rosen. They drove to and from Chicago where Katie received two 5-day continuous chemotherapy treatments, a stem cell harvest, six days of radical chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant. Katie went home to Dubuque cancer free in November of 2006. During her treatments and travels, Katie wrapped herself in her blanket. The soft fleece was her warmth, and it became her touch of home.
