Located two blocks from Central Park at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue in midtown Manhattan, Carnegie Hall is listed as a U.S. National Historic Landmark and a one of the U. S. National Register of Historic Places. It was one of the last buildings in New Yor constructed entirely of masonry by philanthropist [[CARNEGIE, Andrew|Andrew CARNEGIE]] in 1891. The Hall opened for a five-day music festival beginning on May 5th that year and continues to host the world&amp;#039;s most celebrated classical artists.&lt;br /&gt;
