	CARKEEK, Thomas. (Reduth, County Cornwall, England, Mar. 29, 1843--Clearwater, FL, May 19, 1927). Carkeek followed his father's trade and became a stonemason and also learned carpentry before moving to Wisconsin. (1) In 1882 he moved to Dubuque from Manchester where he had designed several buildings and found employment as an architect with [[CARR, RYDER AND WHEELER COMPANY]]. Carkeek remained with the company until December, 1890 when he opened his own business in the Lincoln Building. (2)		CARKEEK, Thomas.
