New page

BREWPUB TOURIST. Laura Kapparos, a native of Dubuque, established this guide to nightlife and the brewing culture of Dubuque in 2018. The business model was similar to Dollar Shave Club of California which delivered razors and other personal grooming products to customers by mail.

Kapparos believed ''Brewpub Tourist'' was the first subscription box business in Iowa. For a $23 monthly charge, a subscription box was delivered to a subscriber's home. The contents of the box valued at $40 each month included drink tickets to local bars and merchandise for local businesses. Each box featured a local brewery or bar. Kapparos believed the effort was a means of developing support for local businesses.
