Two of her paintings of Dubuque scenes were presented to Sendai, Japan and Koriama, Japan by members of the the Friendship Force.&lt;br /&gt;

A bookkeeper in Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, Bockhaus was a charter member of Friendship Force in 1979.  Her long association with the arts in Dubuque County included membership in the [[DUBUQUE MUSEUM OF ART]] beginning in 1950 and and [[DUBUQUE ART ASSOCIATION]] beginning in 1950.&lt;br /&gt;
