Following the bond issue vote, the investors sold the team. An estimated 2,000 fans paying 35 cents for general admission, 50 cents for "amphitheater" seats, and a quarter for children younger than 14, filled "Baseball Park" later known as the 26th Street Field and then [[COMISKEY PARK]]. The first game, filled with poor playing by Dubuque, led to an 8-1 victory for Chicago. Chicago agreed to a rematch six days later.
