WILLIAM G. STEWART HOME. The many contributions of William G. STEWART to Dubuque are often forgotten when compared to his donation in 1890 of several acres of land to the city with hope of creating a place where families could have outings. This area, then called Stewart Park, became UNION PARK. The route of the Northwest Arterial was shifted to avoid removing Stewart's home which stood near the intersection of Kennedy Road and West 32nd. It was, however, later demolished.
