WESTERN STAR. Believed to the the first Catholic paper to be published in the State of Iowa, the paper, published weekly in Dubuque, was founded in the first week of January 1858. Published in Dubuque by Flaven and Company at 122 Main, the motto of the paper was "Dominus Lux Mean." It was discontinued in 1860.
