WAGNER, Martin. (Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, Feb. 13, 1833--Dubuque, IA, July 20, 1919). Wagner learned his trade of stonecutting and contracting in Germany and came to the Dubuque in 1854.

In 1867 he formed a partnership with Bernard SCHULTE to establish the company of SCHULTE AND WAGNER on the corner of White and 10th. Among the projects associated with this firm was work on the tower of ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL.
