VORWALD, Elmer. (Dyersville, IA, Sept. 12, 1907--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 15, 1997). Vorwald worked at FARLEY AND LOETSCHER MANUFACTURING COMPANY, GENERAL DRY BATTERIES, and the A.Y.MCDONALD MANUFACTURING COMPANY. He was a member of the Carpenters (Millworker), Molders, IMU Local 263 and Machinists, IAM Lodge 1238.

Vorward served as vice-President of IAM Lodge 1238 and president of the Dubuque Metal Trades Council. He was a charter member of the DUBUQUE AREA LABOR HALL OF FAME.
