RICHARDSON, Benjamin Franklin. (Galena, IL, 1863 – Dubuque, IA, Nov. 12, 1930) The son of George RICHARDSON, Sr. Richardson came to Dubuque in 1877 when his father established the B. F. RICHARDSON COMPANY at 3rd and Bluff. The company specialized in men's unlined work shoes in waterproof leathers.

In 1894 he took the manufacture of ladies' shoes to Chicago retaining the name of the company with his brothers who manufactured men's shoes in Dubuque. (1)

Musically talented, he was a member of a local string orchestra. (2)
