RED LINE TRANSIT COMPANY. The Red Line Company came to Dubuque in December, 1865. At the time, this was the only line having no transhipment off-freight between Chicago, New York or Boston. Shipments to Boston to Chicago took eight days while those from New York to Chicago took seven. Goods could be shipped at regular freight rates.
