RAESLE, John. (Dubuque, IA, Feb. 28, 1859--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 17, 1915). Raesle served in the DUBUQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT for nearly thirty-five years. Beginning as a patrolman, he worked through different assignments up to the position of chief of police that he held under mayors Voelker, Olinger, and Lyons before retiring.
