MCLAUGHLIN, Francis. (Ireland, 1836-- ). McLaughlin's parents came to America in 1848. They lived two years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and came to Dubuque County in the spring of 1850. He grew up and lived on a farm for fifteen years and then worked in the grain business for ten years.

McLaughlin was elected Auditor of Dubuque County in 1873 and was re-elected in 1875 and again in 1877. He also held town and school offices.
