M. M. JOHANNSEN CANDY COMPANY.  Located at 260 Main Street, the company was established around 1907 and occupied only two floors of the building. Within six months, demand for its high grade candies required another floor for production. The Johannsen company manufactured high grade chocolates of all kinds and "satin finish" hard candies like ribbon candy. The "satin finish" candies had a high gloss that separated them from the more common varieties.
