LORD OF LIFE LUTHERAN CHURCH.  Founded on April 17, 1979, as a mission congregation of the American Lutheran Church on the westside of Dubuque, the church had eighty-six charter members.  Worship services were held at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Asbury for eighteen months until the church facility was built.  In 1994 an educational and fellowship wing was completed enabling the congregation to house a growing Christian education program, Kids of the Kingdom Preschool, and offer space for community outreach.
