LAUFENBERG, Wayne L. Jr. (Dubuque, IA, Feb. 13, 1954--Saint Donatus, IA, Mar. 27, 2010). Laufenberg was a member of Machinist Local 1238 of Dubuque for more than thirty years. For the sixteen years before his death, he was the business representative of the union. He was also a business representative for the Machinist Union District 6, president of the Dubuque Labor Temple Building Corporation, vice president of the Midwest State Council of Machinists, vice president of the Iowa State Council of Machinists, delegate to the Dubuque Metal Trades Council, past member of the Dubuque County Zoning Board of Adjustments, member of the United Way Board of Directors, labor volunteer for the Salvation Army Bell Ringers for Christmas, and a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in 2008. Laufenberg also coordinated the annual Hawgs for Dogs Benefit Ride.
