KUHL, Ryan. (Dubuque, IA-- ). At the age of eight, Kuhl was disgnosed as having muscular dystrophy. By the age of ten, he had in lost all mobility beneath his neck. His interest in technology began shortly thereafter, and he spent hours on a school-provided laptop using voice-recognition software to type and search the Internet. At the age of fourteen, Kuhl bought his first computer. Within a year, he was earning up to $4,000 a month operating an online advertising and marketing business. He graduated from STEPHEN HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL in 2001 and enrolled in the San Diego State University. He remained only one year before dropping out to pursue his business interests.

In 2011 he founded Amoeba Group, an online marketing company specializing in advertisement placement for online businesses and products. He also started Abilicize, a company that markets special exercise bicycles designed to propel the legs of people with mobility impairments.

In 2014 Kuhl was the CEO of two online marketing businesses based in Austin, Texas. He relied on the latest advances in eye-scan and voice recognition to operate his businesses.
