KING OF CLUBS. Under the long-time ownership of Merlyn "Spike" Weber, the King of Club established a reputation as a sponsor of bowling teams in Dubuque. Weber sponsored more than 200 teams in Dubuque bowling leagues and city tournaments, sent 28 teams to the

ABC national tournament, 45 teams to the Iowa state tournament and sponsored as many as 10 teams in a single season. Weber originated and sponsored the King of Clubs mixed doubles tournament. (1)

The 1941 Dubuque City Directory and 1942 Dubuque Classified Business Directory listed the address as 1944 Central.

The 1951 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 1902 Central.
