KENNEDY, Gene. (LeMars, IA, Oct. 28, 1927- ). State legislator. Kennedy, a graduate of LORAS COLLEGE, served one term in the Iowa House before his election to the Iowa Senate. Assistant minority leader in 1974~Kennedy chose not to seek re-election to his 11th District seat. In the same year he managed the unsuccessful gubernatorial campaign of James Schaben.

Kennedy later became a lobbyist for the Iowa Sheriffs' Association. Along with Dennis HOULIHAN, Kennedy established the highly successful LEGISLATIVE DAYS.
