The 1884-1885 through 1890-91 Dubuque City Directory listed 751 Locust as the address.
An example of his work was found in 2015 at 260-280 West 17th. This was termed the James Howie Block and was constructed in 1884. There were originally twelve apartments each with six rooms. (1)
