JACOBSON, Isaac H. (Lithuania, 1871--Chicago, September 18, 1934) Jacobson was the president and founder of the JACOBSON IRON & METAL COMPANY and was prominent nationally in Jewish circles.

He came to America at the age of fourteen and moved immediately to Dubuque to join one of his brothers, Sam.

Deeply religious, he was one of the most active members of Congregation Kness Israel and was a former president of the synagogue. He was a major contributor to National Jewish charities and for fifteen years served as a member of the board of directors governing the operation of the National Hebrew Hospital for Jewish consumptives in Denver, Colorado. He was also affiliated with the Dubuque chapter of B'nai B'rith, the Jewish fraternal and charitable organization.
