HUBER, Henry. (Hess-Darmstadt, Germany, Sept. 27, 1824--Dubuque, IA, July 27, 1899). Huber learned the carpentry trade in Germany. He emigrated to America in 1851 and lived in New York and New Jersey three years before coming to Dubuque in 1854. (1)

Huber began working in the furniture business. He established Huber's Furniture factory and then with a Mr. Kley built the factory for DUBUQUE FURNITURE AND BURIAL CASE COMPANY at the corner of Eighteenth and Washington STREETS. (2) He served as a director of the company beginning with its organization.
