Howell, Dorothy. (Springfield, IL, May 9, 1924--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 11, 1998). An active supporter of community organizations in Dubuque, Howell served on the boards of directors of the MOUNT PLEASANT HOME, RSVP, and the DUBUQUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. She was a member of the DUBUQUE VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION Junior Board, president of the board of the Dubuque Symphony League and active in P.E.O. and ST. LUKE'S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.
Dorothy graduated from the Evanston (IL) Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She practiced nursing in Evanston until moving to Dubuque in 1953.
