She organized the first resident camp program for special needs children in Iowa in 1960 and ran the program until 1974. She was appointed the executive director of the Dubuque County Association for Retarded Citizens Inc. and Executive Director of Albrecht Acres in 1974. | ||

She was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Cerebral Palsy Association and the Dubuque County Association for Retarded Citizens.
