GLAB, John "Duncan"
Duncan enlisted in the Army after graduation and was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was there on December 7, 1941, when the Japanese launched the surprise attack that brought the United States into WORLD WAR II. He spent the remainder of the war in the South Pacific as a company commander of the 389th Engineering Battalion building airfields on Okinawa and Guam. After the Japanese surrendered, he was sent to Korea before returning home.
He married Patricia Ann Murphy on September 23, 1950, at ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL. In 1956, he and Pat adopted four children. Pat preceded him in death on February 22, 1980. On August 31, 1985, he married Julia Tuohy Dolphin.
Duncan began his career with Morrison Brothers in 1946 as a welder and was the president of MORRISON BROTHERS COMPANY from 1972 until 1996. He retired in 1997, after being with the company for 50 years.
