GERMAN CHEMICAL COMPANY. Bottles carrying the company's name were used to contain the "Star Cholera Cure."

Little is known of the company. It may have been the small medicine firm operated by Mrs. Walburga Kombaecher. She was no longer listed as a medicine manufacturer after 1916, a time when the boycott of German businesses had reached a peak. The Pure Food & Drug Act of 1906 prohibited the use of the word "cure" on any medicinal product. While large companies followed the law, small medicine businesses either did not know of the law or chose to ignore it.
