GAVIN, Tom. (Dubuque, IA- ). Gavin was an instructor at the blind and handicapped skiing school at SUNDOWN MOUNTAIN in 1986. He was also the coach of Pat McLuen of Des Moines who was training for the World Blind Ski Championships in Salen, Sweden. (1)

Gavin was the director of the Iowa Winter Special Olympics in 1988. (2) The regional director for Special Olympics International, Gavin in 1991 directed the sixth annual IOWA SPECIAL OLYMPICS WINTER GAMES, a program he started in Dubuque. Gavin then held the position of Director of Skiing Services for the Disabled and Assistant Ski School Director at SUNDOWN.
