FUHRMAN, Edward. (St. Louis, MO, Aug. 9, 1852-- ). Edward Fuhrman came with his family to Dubuque in 1854. His father was a horse dealer, but later opened a clothing store on Clay Street. Edward left school at sixteen years of age and learned the chair manufacturing business as an employee of HERANCOURT & WOODWARD. He followed this business outside of Dubuque and then entered the bakery business in St. Louis. He returned to the Dubuque area and tried farming before entering the clothing business.
