FITZPATRICK, John. (Castlewellan, County Down, Ireland, 1807--Dubuque, IA, Apr. 20, 1898). Fitzpatrick came to the United States in 1823 and in 1839 to Dubuque. He acquired a fortune as a miner and merchant.
Fitzpatrick served on the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors from Julien Township from 1868 to 1870, in the territorial legislature, and by the appointment of George Wallace JONES to the commission which surveyed northern Iowa.
