FEATHERSTON, Joseph W. (Cascade, IA, Feb. 24, 1945--Dubuque, IA, Aug. 16, 2014). The son of Joseph Peter Featherston and Bernadine Agnes (Neyens-Featherston) Hoerner, Joseph graduated from Divine Word Seminary High School in East Troy, Wisconsin. He then attended Divine Word College in Epworth before receiving his bachelor's and master's degrees from LORAS COLLEGE. He married Barbara Hunt on June 22, 1968.

Joseph spent much of his professional life as a licensed social worker for CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBUQUE. He retired from Catholic Charities as its associate director. He was also an active volunteer as a disaster relief counselor for the American Red Cross. For his work helping others be their best, he received the Matthew 25 Award from Divine Word College.
