ELLWANGER, Ralph. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 23, 1882--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 30, 1933). The son of John Peter ELLWANGER, Ralph attended Notre Dame where he won the gold Cadet Medal in 1889. (1 )He then joined his brother William and their father in the operation of the JOHN ELLWANGER COMPANY. The brothers were also owners of the FITZGERALD CIGAR STORE, wholesale and retail distributors of tobacco products.
For many years, Ellwanger served as the secretary of the DUBUQUE BRIDGE CO.
