ELLWANGER, Ralph. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 23, 1882--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 30, 1933). The son of [[ELLWANGER, John Peter|John Peter ELLWANGER]], Ralph attended Notre Dame. (1) In 1899 he won the gold Cadet Medal. (2)He then joined his brother William joined their father in the operation of the [[JOHN ELLWANGER COMPANY]]. The brothers were also owners of the [[FITZGERALD CIGAR STORE]], wholesale and retail distributors of tobacco products.
