ELLWANGER, Ralph. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 23, 1882--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 30, 1933). The son of John Peter ELLWANGER, Ralph attended Notre Dame. (1) In 1899 he won the gold Cadet Medal. (2)He then joined his brother William joined their father in the operation of the JOHN ELLWANGER COMPANY. The brothers were also owners of the FITZGERALD CIGAR STORE, wholesale and retail distributors of tobacco products.
For many years, Ellwanger served as the secretary of the DUBUQUE BRIDGE CO.
