E. SOMERFELD. In 1860 P. H. E. Sommerfield, a native of Brandenburg, Germany, established this cleaning and dyeing business. He was succeeded by his son, Adolph G.
The 1865 Dubuque City Directory listed the corner of 7th and Iowa.
The 1867 Dubuque City Directory gave no address for this business although it was listed.
The 1868-69 Dubuque City Directory listed the southwest corner of 6th and Jackson and the southwest corner of 7th and Iowa.
The 1870-1871 Dubuque City Directory gave the address of this business as the southeast corner of 8th and Main.
The 1873-74 Dubuque City Directory listed 7th and Iowa.
The 1875-1876 through 1878-79 Dubuque City Directory placed this business at 698 Iowa.
