DUBUQUE WESTERN RAILROAD COMPANY

DUBUQUE WESTERN RAILROAD COMPANY. The oldest of the independent railroads to become part of the Milwaukee Railroad was the Dubuque South Western Railroad. According to the Dubuque City Directory of 1857-1858, the railroad's officers were Lincoln Clark, President; Edward LANGWORTHY, Treasurer; Henry A. Wiltse, Attorney; and Samuel Duncan, Secretary.
The company, incorporated on September 10, 1855, began as the DUBUQUE WESTERN RAILROAD.
