DUBUQUE KARATE CLUB
DUBUQUE KARATE CLUB. In 1970 David SCHMITT opened the Dubuque Karate Club at 527 W. 8th. It was the first karate school in Dubuque and one of the first in Iowa. In 2011 one of the club's members, Linda Ginter, became the first woman in Dubuque to earn the rank of master in the martial art of Tang Soo Do.
