DAVIDSON, Sarah. (Unknown--Dubuque, IA, Sept. 26, 2012). Davidson moved to Dubuque in 1993. She graduated from CLARKE COLLEGE in 1998 with a degree in religious studies and a minor in computer information. She received a scholarship from Stauros International that year and traveled to Israel.

Davidson served on the Dubuque Human Rights Commission and the Dubuque Transportation Board. A graduate of the Breaking Barriers Program, she was honored with the Women of Distinction Award in 2008. In 2012 she served as interim co-chairwoman of the Dubuque County Green Party.

Wheelchair-bound by a degenerative disease, Davidson was a leading promoted of the Step by Step volunteer organization that renovated an apartment building at 759 Bluff St. for community living and independence for people like herself. The 1890s brownstone was renovated into modern adapted living space with seven apartments and a common kitchen and dining room. The project costing $1.6 million was opened in February 2009 and in 2012 was used by HILLS AND DALES CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER.
