CINDERELLA
CINDERELLA. "Cinderella" was a special trunk owned by INTERSTATE POWER COMPANY that spread cinders on Interstate's principal bus routes during icy winters to ensure transportation. (1)
The cinder truck began as a bus on the East Dubuque route in 1925. It was converted to the spreader in 1938 and carried from one to three workmen who were responsible for making the street safe. (2) In January 1951, however, it was replaced by a new vehicle which required only one person. (3)
