CHEWNING, Hazel Marie. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 16, 1897--Dubuque, IA, Sept. 30, 1972). A daughter of Charles CHEWNING, Hazel at the age of fourteen, was a pianist at a local theater showing silent films. She was also the accompanist for the Rose Burke Dance Studio.

She was a member of the Dubuque Trio - KL & M Trio (Kaiser, Lynn and Moser) and a life member of Local 289, American Federation of Musicians. She married Melvin Lynn of Dubuque on September 29, 1919; they had two sons, James Lynn (married Rosemarie Whelan) both now deceased and buried in Arizona and William Lynn (married Jeanette Fay)-- William Lynn deceased and buried in Mt. Calvary in Dubuque and Jeanette still residing in Dubuque with their 6 children and many grandchildren. Hazel and Melvin Lynn shared 50+ married years together. Melvin died July 17, 1971 followed by Hazel in September 30, 1972, both buried at Mt. Calvary in Dubuque.
