C. W. CHAPMAN LUMBER COMPANY. Articles of incorporation were filed on January 2, 1901 for this company which was to be a general wholesale and retail business of lumber, coal and building materials. Officers included Frank D. Stout, president; Charles W. Chapman, vice-president and secretary; and A. T. Lusch, treasurer. (1) This local firm reopened the mills of the KNAPP, STOUT AND COMPANY keeping hundreds of workers employed. Capitalized with $100,000 in 1901, the company was bought out by the SPAHN AND ROSE LUMBER COMPANY in 1908.
