BURROWS, Joanne. ( -- ). President, CLARKE COLLEGE. On February 2, 2006 the Clarke College Board of Trustees announced that effective July 1st Burrows, a member of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, would succeed Catherine DUNN as the 15th president of Clarke College. At the time, Burrows served as the chief academic officer and academic dean at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Ind., a position she held since 2002.

Previously, Burrows served in various roles at Indiana State University including chair of the department of educational leadership, administration and foundations; coordinator of the Leadership in Higher Education Program; and assistant professor of higher education. She has also served as assistant academic dean at Holy Names College in Oakland, Calif.

Burrows holds a bachelor of science degree in graphic design from the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.; a master of arts degree in philosophical and systematic theology from the Graduate Theological Union and Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, Calif.; and a doctoral degree in higher education from Ohio State University.
