BRITT, Paul L. (Minneapolis, MN--June 24, 1928--Dubuque, IA, Feb. 27, 1992). Britt's career with DUBUQUE STAMPING AND MANUFACTURING COMPANY grew from a part-time trainee with the company in 1950 through general manager and finally sole stockholder.

In 1978 the Bendix Corp. announced that Britt had been appointed a vice president of the Toledo Stamping and Manufacturing Company. He would also continue his responsibility for the Dubuque Division where he had served as general manager since 1969 and president since 1972. In 1983 it appeared that Allied Corp., the successor owner, intended to sell Toledo Stamping and Manufacturing, as the Dubuque firm had recently been known.

Britt bought the company for $1.4 million and the company was renamed Dubuque Stamping and Manufacturing. Britt served as a member of the board of directors of FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF DUBUQUE and the DUBUQUE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB.
