BREITBACH, Thomas William. (Dubuque, IA, Jan. 30, 1924--Dubuque, IA, 2011). County treasurer. Breitbach was elected county treasurer in 1974 when he succeeded the retiring [[MEUSER, Leo|Leo MEUSER]].  He had previously served as an insurance agent for Prudential for eighteen years.  In addition to his elective office, Breitbach was a board member of the [[DUBUQUE BOYS' CLUB]]. He also officiated basketball, baseball, and football games in the tri-state area for many years. He was an inductee as well as a board member of the [[DUBUQUE COUNTY BASEBALL HALL OF FAME]].
