BLUM COMPANY. Founded in 1926, the Blum Company, according to the 1951 Dubuque City Directory, was located at 411 East 15th Street. It was still there in 1968. The firm originally manufactured cattle crossings, clothesline standards, tanks, culverts, fabricated steel, and flag poles. There were fifteen male employees.

In 1993 as the calendar indicated, the firm bought hides, ginseng, and scrap metals. It sold structural steel and pipe, culverts, cattle guards, steel fabricated to the specifications of the purchaser, and reinforcing rods and mesh.
