BLUM'S IRON & METAL COMPANY.

Started in 1926 by Max Blum, a Russian immigrant, the company eventually renamed BLUM COMPANY moved to its permanent location in 1942. Blum liked the proximity to the railroad. The company was headed in 2015 by its second-generation owner, Al Blum. The company was scheduled to close during 2016 as a result of the BEE BRANCH creek restoration. (1)

The 1937 Dubuque Consurvey Directory listed 760-790 E. 16th.

The 1941 Dubuque City Directory and 1942 Dubuque Classified Business Directory listed 740 E. 16th.
