BACKPOCKET BREWING COMPANY. Founded by Jake Simmons of Coralville, Backpocket was a micro-brewer of small-batch and specialty brews. In December, 2016 Simmons announced that the company would open Backpocket Tap, a 1,600 square-foot taproom in the southeast corner of the former NOVELTY IRON WORKS building at 333 E. 10th Street.

The taproom would initially partner with Dubuque restaurants to provide food. Eventually the plan was to offer brick oven pizza.
